To promote good governance and transparency only companies registered with IPA and have GST compliance Certificate from IRC will be permitted to register a security company with the Security Industries Authority.

Welcome to the Security Industries Authority

The Security Industries Authority (SIA) is a new government agency established by the Security Protection Act 2004 and it officially came in to existence on the 1st September 2005 to regulate the operations of all the private security companies in the country. And it is therefore mandated to grant security providers license and security guards permits to security companies upon payment of the prescribed fees to operate security business, and maintain an accurate record of the companies.

This includes granting approval for the establishment of private security training academies and formulating the Code of Conduct. And also ensuring that only the registered security companies operate business to protect the integrity of the industry and promote long term growth. The Authority is located on the 2nd and the 3rd floor of the Watkins Mall along Okari Street Boroko NCD Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

To encourage and develop the securities industry in partnership with the industry players, interested stake holders and relevant government law enforcement agencies to protect life and property in the country. And by doing so create employement opportunites in the security industry for the PNG people.

Our Mission Statement

To ensure that the Security Industry Authority is financially self sustaining through efficient monitoring and compliance inspection of security companies to collect the yearly licensing and permit fees. To efficiently regulate, promote higher standards in security industry, raising performance standards and skills of the security guards through active engagements with relevant stake holders. Which would lead to improved income earnings and better standards of living in compliance with the National Government's Vision 2050 program.
