New Inspector Appointed for NGI Region
Gima Virobo was appointed as the new Inspector for NGI Region….
The Security Industries Authority (SIA) is a new government agency established by the Security Protection Act 2004
and it officially came in to existence on the 1st of September 2005 to regulate the operations of all the private security companies in the country. And it is therefore mandated to grant security providers license and security guards permits to security companies upon payment of the prescribed fees to operate security business, and maintain an accurate record of the companies.
This includes granting approval for the establishment of private security training academies and formulating the Code of Conduct. And also ensuring that only the registered security companies operate business to protect the integrity of the industry and promote long term growth.

Security Industries Authority Council
The Security Industries Council, is the governing body of the Security Industries Authorithy established under section 9 of the Security Protection Act to make policy decisions on the affairs of the Security Industries Authority.
Security Companies Information
The Security Industries is the fastest growing business in PNG and as of December 2023 it had 569 licensed security companies with 30,126 permitted guards employed in various locations of the country.
