Requirements for Security License Renewal
It is very important for existing security license holders who are operating and have been issued a security license (Class A, B, or C) to renew its license and security guard permits 30 days before the expiration date.
A penalty fee of K1,000 will be imposed for any late renewals as specified under section 50 & 51 of the Security Industry (Protection) Act 2004
Mandatory requirements to renew existing security license and guard permits (L&P)
- Valid IRC CoC (Certificate of Compliance)
- Valid Insurance Certificate of Currency (Workers Compensation & Public Liability)
- Valid Certificate of Registration from an Authorized Superannuation Fund (ASF) for companies employing more than 15 officers/guards.
Minimum Wage Requirements
All security license holders are advised to pay the correct minimum wage rate of K3.50/hour and above for their officers/guards.
Superannuation
All security license holders who employ more than 15 security officers/guards are advised to register with any Authorized Superannuation Fund (ASF) and remit superannuation fund for their employees.
Security companies who have ceased operation or are dormant & not operating.
Any security company that has ceased operation or is dormant because of no business activities should immediately inform the appropriate regional inspector or contact our enquires on 325 7930. This is to avoid getting penalized in the future should the company want to re-register and carry out security business again.
Furthermore, your non-operating status would also be shared to other regulatory state agencies like IRC and BPNG pertaining to tax and superannuation for guards.
